Sound Familiar?

We've heard these from plant managers across New Hampshire and Vermont. Usually over coffee, usually with a sigh.

"Our ERP vendor wants $15k/year just for support."

We can maintain and support your existing systems for less - or help you migrate to open source alternatives that you actually own.

"Our last IT guy set this up and nobody knows how it works."

We document everything. When we're done, you'll have a complete picture of your infrastructure - no more tribal knowledge.

"We have equipment from 2005 that still runs production."

Legacy gear is our specialty. We'll keep it running, secure it properly, and plan a realistic migration path when you're ready.

"The shop floor network is a mess and I'm afraid to touch it."

We'll untangle it, document it, segment it properly, and make sure your OT and IT networks play nice without compromising security.

"We pay for software licenses we probably don't need."

We'll audit what you're actually using and find open source alternatives where it makes sense. Keep your money for things that matter.

"Our IT company doesn't understand manufacturing."

We've worked in logistics and industrial automation. We know what it means when production stops. That's why we focus exclusively on manufacturers.

Built for Manufacturing

When production stops, the clock starts. Every minute of downtime has a dollar value - and we've sat in enough plant managers' offices to know exactly how painful that math gets.

That's why we focus exclusively on manufacturers. We know the challenges: legacy equipment that can't be replaced, industrial networks that evolved organically, and systems that have to work even when they're older than some of your employees.

  • ERP and MRP system support
  • Shop floor and industrial PC management
  • CAD/CAM workstation optimization
  • Network segmentation for OT/IT environments
  • Legacy system integration and migration

How We Work

We've seen what doesn't work in this industry. Here's what we do instead.

What We Do
  • Proactive monitoring and maintenance
  • Open source solutions when they fit
  • Document everything we touch
  • Honest advice, even if it means less work for us
  • Support legacy systems others won't touch
  • Flat monthly rates with no surprises
What We Don't Do
  • Bill by the hour and profit from your problems
  • Sell you hardware at markup
  • Lock you into multi-year contracts
  • Push solutions because we get kickbacks
  • Disappear when things get complicated
  • Hold your data hostage
Emergency Support
  • Production-down issues: 30-minute response
  • After-hours emergencies: We answer
  • On-site when needed, same day
  • No "leave a message" runaround
  • Clear escalation path
  • We don't clock-watch during crises

Straight Talk on Pricing

You're not going to find a "Request Quote" button that sends you into a sales funnel. Here's what our clients actually pay:

Small shop (5-15 endpoints) $800 - $1,500/mo
Mid-size manufacturer (15-50 endpoints) $1,500 - $3,500/mo
Larger operations (50+ endpoints) Let's talk

Includes monitoring, maintenance, help desk, and standard support. Projects and major changes quoted separately. No contracts longer than month-to-month required.

Who We Are

50+ years combined experience across logistics, industrial automation, and IT infrastructure. MCSE certifications. Deep expertise in Windows and Linux. We started Makers-IT because we kept seeing the same story: manufacturers getting burned by IT companies that didn't understand their world.

Most IT companies don't get that you can't just "restart it" when a machine is mid-cycle. They don't understand legacy systems that still run production. They definitely don't get why you're running Windows XP on that CNC controller - or why you can't just upgrade it.

We do. We've been in those plants, worked on those systems, sat through those production meetings. That's why we only work with manufacturers.
